Hey Volleyball Family,
As we prepare for our trip to Vegas for this tournament I hope you are excited as I am for the opportunity to not only showcase ourselves against new competition, but also enjoy the fact that we get to have these tournaments again and share these experiences. It has been a long time coming, but I am glad we get to partake in this experience as a team and make memories we will never forget. With that being said, we as coaches want this to be a successful and fun trip for our team, and that comes with standards and expectations that coincide with our actions off the court as well as on. This is a school sanctioned trip so the rules, expectations, and values match that of one that represents our school and program with honor and integrity. Any violations of rules, expectations, or destruction of property will result in consequences ranging from revoking playing time, to requiring a parent to come pick up a member, to termination of player’s status as a team member. We expect our boys to represent us proudly and compete to the best of their ability on and off the court, and have no doubt that they will.
During the next couple days (and Saturday night for you procrastinators) as you pack your bags, check, double check, and triple check to make sure you have everything, we’ve made a list of what to, and not to bring to make that process easier. There will be plenty of entertainment at the team house as well as a lot of time spent at the tournament itself, so don’t worry about fitting your console in your bag, you can get Fortnite dubs after we take our dubs at the tournament. General rule of thumb when packing: If it's not something you are willing to show to your parents and/or coaches, don’t bring it. Here’s a quick list when sorting through the things you’re considering taking.
What to Bring:
- Both sets of uniforms
- Court shoes
- Knee pads/braces
- Water bottle
- Slides/off court shoes
- Recovery devices (massage gun, roller, etc)
- Change of clothes (monday/Tuesday after play, Wednesday ride home)
- Clothes to sleep in
- Swim trunks
- Phone charger
- Medication (personal or over the counter), inhaler, epipen (please inform coach of any that you are bringing and what they are for)
- Spending money (meals there and back plus additional spending money)
- Additional pillows and/or blankets if desired
- Hygiene products
- Homework
What NOT to Bring:
- Drugs, Alcohol, weapons, or paraphernalia
- Gaming Consoles
- Anything not allowed on campus or violates Caiman Way policies
- Clothes considered against school dress code
We cannot wait for this weekend and all of the great memories that will come with it, and we as a coaching staff are excited to see how much we grow as a team from it. If you have any questions feel free to reach out and we answer them to the best of our abilities.
Go Caimans!
