Hey Football Family,
This Week’s Theme: Compete
Def. (1) to strive consciously or unconsciously for an objective (such as position, profit, or prize) ; (2) be in a state of rivalry

The drive to compete is in all of us. This attribute is often what separates winners and losers on the field. While the scoreboard is not the ultimate goal, it is a big one. We should always feel the need to compete and give 100% effort.
Competitors will not always be popular. They will not always win the game, but they always know they have given everything they have to the cause. True competitors know that the competition is often won before the game is ever played. Preparing to win often separates good from great. Great effort is needed at ALL TIMES.
Learning to compete involves pushing through. Not quitting when every part of your body and mind want to quit. Fighting even when a situation seems hopeless. These are the traits you will see when you see a true competitor.
Compete with the guy across the line from you in practice this week, sure; compete with yourself on every play. Are you constantly striving to better yourself? Competitors do because competitors know deep down that at the end of the day the competition is not with any external forces.
The competition is You.
