Happy Sunday Caimans!
We are getting towards the end of regular season Gentlemen. We are 6 - 2 in League and 9 - 5 Overall. We are in 2nd place for our League and #12 place in Division II. We are in good company with very competitive teams. I think you will enjoy the competition during League & CIF TEAM Playoffs. You are all doing well in learning and growing as a team. Let’s finish strong this week before you all take off for Spring Break!
Our "Pick Two” Player(s) of the week goes to: Evan Knee & Nick Prouty
Not only are they our beloved Team Captains - they are both the most versatile athletes on the team! Both are seniors (miss you already), they are both on their 2nd & final year as Varsity Tennis players & both are our “Online” students.
EVAN’s first love was baseball until he got a new weapon - the TENNIS racquet. He moves & dances with grace & finesse on the courts. His anticipation & soft hands at the net is beautiful to watch. He is all Heart on & off the courts & without fail, Evan is always there with a helping hand with unloading or storing our ball cart & equipment to and from my car. He intentionally goes out of his way to say “THANK YOU” after every practice & matches. Evan you are such a delight to have on our team!
NICK also came to love tennis two years ago. When he first started and participated in one of my clinics - first thing I notice was his footwork. His feet were like lightening - Irish dancer type. I was so impressed that I encouraged him to try out for the tennis team. His first competitive sport was Fencing until of course he held a racquet in his hands. Trading his sword to strings, Nick kept his competitive DNA. His serves are consistent & will do all he can to help his teammate win whether singles or playing doubles. He’s a perfectionist & he leads quietly by example to help his fellow teammates raise their level of play. Whether Nick wins or loses, his sportsmanship & humbleness shines bright.
Congratulations to you both for being this week's “Pick Two” players of the week!
