Happy Weekend Caimans!
We had a good full week of Matches and practices this past week. We are on our way to begin our “LEAGUE” matches this coming week. You all have been working hard and showing so much heart on the courts and to each other. I really admire all of you. You all have such a unique style, personality and creativity on and off the courts which makes our team so beautiful. The one thing I did notice that you all share is total respect for one another. It is always a coach’s dream to have a group like you. So THANK YOU for being who you are! Keep up the great efforts and kindness!
Valley Center & San Pasqual were good teams to experience and to be expose to heavy returns and soft finesse balls. From here, we will be encountering more competitive teams. The Caiman goal is to work on our Mental Toughness. We can strengthen toughness by being focused, committing to your shot good or bad, and playing with NO FEAR because in the end, It’s ONLY tennis, It’s ONLY a game. Enjoy the challenge, learn from better players and apply it to your next match. Remember “PRESSURE is a PRIVILEGE:)
Our Pick “TWO” Players of the Week goes to: John Fernandez, Jr. & Ezra Dietze.
John started to play tennis this summer and has shown incremental improvements. Every day at practice he is our "happy go lucky" player who is happy to be playing with everyone & anyone. He works hard and can hold his own when playing doubles or singles. John has an amazing patiences & nothing seems to bother him. We are so happy he is part of our team! At our matches he is the chosen “DJ” announcer and goes into character to introduce the players at intros with enthusiasm:). Next time I’ll have to bring the microphone;) Keep up the good work John! You are only getting better and better!
Ezra is our incoming Freshman and is part of our development team. Although he was away for a week recovering from being under the weather, he has come back with a such desire to practice and play harder for his teammates. Since tryouts, he has become more and more consistent in his strokes. He played his first Single Set match against RBV. He didn’t lose - he “LEARNED”. He came off the courts wanting to play more and get better. That’s the spirit we all love to see. Win or Lose, Ezra has such a grateful heart. We love watching you grow Ezra. You’re doing a good job. This is only the beginning for you!
Congratulations to you both for being this week’s “Pick Two” Players of the Week!
