This week in football: Integrity
Def. the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness, (2) the state of being whole and undivided
Integrity is one of the most difficult ideals to live up to in our daily life. Being the same person through difficult times can be hard. Not lying or cheating when doing so would go unnoticed and get us ahead in life is very tempting. Stabbing someone in the back so that we can take that position has become what much of our culture preaches; get ahead in life by any means necessary.
Integrity disagrees with this premise 100%. Having integrity means doing the right thing even though it may not be the “best” or “easiest” thing for you personally. Who you are when no one watches is who you really are.
In those moments when you know the coach can’t see you because everyone is doing something at the same time matters. What you do in those moments reveals something about you. Every day, you will have the opportunity to develop integrity. The real question is, what are you going to do with those opportunities?
The longer you wait to engage the opportunities that develop integrity, the longer it will take to set a sure foundation for your life.

Hello Football Family,
It has been a crazy start to the season on the logistics side of things as the referee shortage has forced every team to move one or more games to either a Thursday or Saturday.
So, thank you for your patience and flexibility.
As you may have noticed, we have expanded our practice times.
Monday practices will run 345-615p.
The rest of the week, practices will run 345-6p.
In addition, we have decided to suit up the whole program for all “Varsity Only” games; every player should have received a varsity jersey at last week’s scrimmage.
Finally, this week we will begin our second fundraiser of the year: the Fall Sports Program. More information will be coming out later this week.
Please reach out if you have any questions at [email protected].
Sincerely,
Coach Josiah

From National Federation of High School Sports:
Where do students learn to play with integrity? Perform at their best? Lead by example?
The high school football team!
For a lot of students, playing high school football is their FIRST opportunity to be a leader. To be a role model. To inspire good behavior in their teammates.
But it certainly won’t be their LAST.
And in doing so, they not only set a positive example for every student, every parent and every fan in the school community, but they carry that leadership experience into life off the field too.
Email [email protected] to learn how your student can sign up to play.
